A service auditor performed an attestation engagement to report on controls at TaxBreak, which resulted in the issuance of the SSAE 16 Audit Report. The report details management’s description of the service organization’s system and the suitability of the design of controls as of July 31, 2013. It was prepared in accordance with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization.
How does this affect TaxBreak clients? This provides clients with a level of assurance about TaxBreak corporate controls. SSAE 16 is fundamentally an auditor-to-auditor report, with the scope of engagement being that of controls related to financial reporting. SSAE 16 is an enhancement to the current standard for Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization, the SAS70 that many are familiar with.
The report includes and covers the following: Independent Service Auditor’s Report, Management Assertion, Description of Controls and Control Objectives and Related Controls.
