Frank Brown, a native of Gadsden, Alabama, is the founder and chairman of Tax Credit Processing Center, LLC d/b/a TaxBreak. He holds a BA degree from the University of Alabama, JD from the University of Alabama School of Law and LLM in Taxation from New York University School of Law. He practiced tax law for fifteen years with an emphasis in federal and state business taxation. As part of his tax practice, he was involved with the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit. In the late 1990s, he began researching all other state and federal tax credits and asking fellow tax attorneys and accountants if they were utilizing them. The general response was that there was too much red tape for the benefit derived. Finding that well over 90% of businesses overlook tax credits and government incentives, which leaves millions of dollars in credits on the table, the inspiration for TaxBreak was born with the objective to build a service for businesses that would identify their available tax credits and alleviate the red tape of processing and qualifying which has been successfully done by automation and ever-developing technology. In 2007, Inc. Magazine named TaxBreak to the Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing companies in the United States. Frank is a member of the American Bar Association and the Alabama Bar Association. He is a frequent speaker on federal, state and local tax issues at tax seminars on the state and national level.
